How to attract better enquiries through your website

Help the right clients recognise your value before they get in touch.

Start with the work you want more of

A busy inbox can hide a weak pipeline. If most enquiries are too small, outside your expertise or focused entirely on price, look at the expectations your website sets. List the characteristics of a good project: the client’s situation, the challenge, the value of solving it and the kind of relationship you want.

Write for the person making that decision. A marketing director planning a complex launch needs different reassurance from someone looking for a quick brochure site. Your language should reflect the questions your ideal buyer is already asking.

Make your value easy to recognise

A list of services tells visitors what you do. It may not explain why it matters. Connect each service to a real business situation, then show the thinking and work behind the result.

A useful project story explains the starting problem, the decisions you made and what was delivered. Include outcomes only when you can substantiate them. When numbers are unavailable, be specific about practical improvements, such as a simpler publishing process or a clearer product journey.

Give visitors a confident next step

“Contact us” is easy to overlook when someone does not know what happens next. Explain what an initial conversation covers and what information would help. Place that invitation near the proof that makes it relevant.

Keep the enquiry form proportionate. A brief description, contact details and an optional indication of timing or investment may help begin a useful conversation. Avoid demanding a full specification before someone has spoken to you.

Measure quality alongside quantity

Review which enquiries become good conversations, proposals and suitable projects. With appropriate analytics and consent in place, examine the pages and journeys that support those enquiries. Treat patterns as clues to investigate rather than proof that one design change caused a sale.

Orqa brings positioning, content, design and development together around the clients you want to reach. If your website is drawing the wrong briefs, let’s look at the message it is sending and what a better journey could do.
