Your website could do more than introduce your business

Turn repeated tasks and disconnected journeys into a more useful digital experience.

Look beyond the homepage

A website can be a compelling introduction and a useful part of how your business operates. Think about what happens after someone becomes interested: booking, choosing products, submitting information, finding resources or speaking to the right person.

Where those journeys depend on repeated emails and spreadsheets, there may be an opportunity to make life easier. Start with the task rather than a particular feature or platform.

Find the repeat work

Ask your team which questions they answer most often and which information they copy between systems. Pick one recurring process and map its steps, including who checks the information and where exceptions occur.

A product business might benefit from clearer technical resources. A service business might need a better enquiry route. A growing organisation might need structured content that different teams can update without duplicating effort. The right answer depends on how your business actually works.

Connect carefully

Integrations can pass information between the website and tools your team already uses. Before commissioning one, agree which system owns each record, what information is necessary and what should happen if a connection fails.

Consider permissions, privacy, ongoing maintenance and the experience for staff as well as customers. A useful integration needs a clear handover and someone responsible for keeping it working. A simpler manual step can sometimes be the right choice at a smaller scale.

Build around a useful first outcome

Choose a contained improvement with a clear owner and a way to assess it. Record the current time spent, common errors or customer questions. Agree what success would look like and review the result after people have used it.

Orqa combines creative thinking with bespoke WordPress development to shape websites around real business needs. If you have a process that feels harder than it should, bring it to the conversation. We can explore what your website could make possible and where to begin.
